TrendForce released the panel quotations for late August on August 21st. Despite the continued emergence of mixed signals regarding the demand from TV brands, the purchasing momentum in the third quarter remains strong but has started to show a downward trend.

According to Fan Bo-yu, vice president of research at TrendForce, panel manufacturers are still producing according to demand and dynamically adjusting their utilization rates. However, the upward trend in other large-sized applications is not obvious, so panel manufacturers must actively push up TV panel prices, and therefore the quotations remain strong. He estimates that the prices of 32-inch TV panels will increase by $2, 43-inch by $3, 50-inch by $5, 65-inch by $6, and 75-inch by $8.

For monitor panels, the demand for consumer models is approaching the peak, while the demand for business models remains sluggish. Brand customers are still conservative about price increases, and panel manufacturers have also expressed their intention to raise prices. Fan Bo-yu estimates that monitor panel prices will only increase slightly in August, with Open Cell panels seeing a smaller increase of $0.1. For panel modules, 21.5-inch panels will increase by $0.1, 23.8-inch by $0.1, and 27-inch by $0.1.

For notebook panels, due to the limited growth space in demand from first-tier brand customers in the third quarter, they are conservative about a comprehensive price increase. Most brand customers can only accept a slight increase in the prices of low-end HD TN models. As for mid-to-high-end FHD IPS models, only specific panel manufacturers will make slight price adjustments for specific customers, and there is not much room for adjustment for mainstream customers. It is expected that the prices of HD TN models will increase by $0.1 in August, while FHD IPS models will remain stable.

According to TrendForce's latest quotations in late August, the average price of 65-inch TV panels is $168, up 3.7% month-on-month; the average price of 55-inch panels is $125, up 5% month-on-month; the average price of 43-inch panels is $66, up 4.8% month-on-month; and the average price of 32-inch panels is $38, up 5.6% month-on-month.

For monitor panels, the average price of 27-inch panels is $61.7, up 0.2% month-on-month; the average price of 23.8-inch panels is $48, up 0.2% month-on-month; and the average price of 21.5-inch panels is $41.7, up 0.2% month-on-month.

For notebook panels, only the average price of 14-inch panels is $26.5, up 0.4% month-on-month; the prices of 17.3-inch, 15.6-inch, and 11.6-inch notebook panels remain the same as last time.
